CULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF MASSOUD FOUNDATION (MF)

 

The cultural department of MF as a specific viable entity has always been the vanguard in artistic works, research and culture within the framework of this foundation.

We summarize the activities of this department as following:

 

I. Publications:

The (MF) Cultural department, every   year, publishes valuable Articles and Books authored by different writers and well – known researchers.

Some of its publications are listed below:

     1- (Yad-e-Yar) Journal:

In this journal we present Research papers, History of Afghanistan in the last three decades of war, and the memories of our National Hero, Ahmad shah Massoud.

 

 

     2- Printing of Books:

The publication of books in Afghanistan , due to absence of needed funds and facilities, is very slow. But from (MF) point of view it is very important to get some books published every year. On the basis of this philosophy, the (MF) has published (60) books during its six years of existence since its establishment in 200.  

 

    3- Designing of Billboards and Brochures:

 In order to revive the thoughts and memories of Ahmad shah Massoud, in abstracted form, Billboards are prepared and installed at cross- roads junctions for publicity purposes.  Also publicity brochures are designed and printed as required by various departments.

 

II- Seminars:

National problems are usually complicated and difficult to solve. The cultural department of (MF) periodically convenes seminars and invites knowledgeable personalities from inside and from abroad to discuss these problems and suggest / find workable solutions for them. Commemoration of important calendar dates is exercised by the (MF) cultural department country wide. Some of the seminars held so far are listed below: 

   1- How to make Afghanistan safe again:

This seminar was held on April 20-21 at the Intercontinental Hotel = Kabul in which great number of writers, researchers, politicians and journalists had participated.

Expatriate guests were also invited from abroad to take part in this important seminar.

Research papers were presented on the first day of seminar and ad- hoc committees did their Assignments on the second day including the Terminal Report.

The initiative steps of this seminar were taken by Massoud Foundation and its implementation was done by the cooperation of sister organizations.

 

 2- Seminar on (Teachers’ Day)

Teachers’ Day  is usually celebrated by  the cultural Department  of         Massoud Foundation  in order to pay our respect to the lofty status of Teachers  held in the hearts and minds of every Afghan in Afghanistan  the invited speakers deliver their speeches on the subject. 

 3- Seminar on (Mothers’ Day)

This seminar was held at the Conference- Room in Massoud Foundation Central Headquarters in which knowledgeable people presented their views on the subject.

 

   4- Seminar on (Woman’s Day) - March8

The Massoud Foundation is the Vanguard in celebrating the woman’s Day in Afghanistan in this congregation and every year a great number of people are invited to participate.

 

   5- Seminar on Prophet Mohammad’s Birth – Day:

This great day is celebrated every year in which knowledgeable people are invited to shed light on profit Mohammad’s Teachings in Islam to introduce the real Islam to common people, and other prestigious followers of Prophet Mohammad.

 

III- Cinema Section

In this section, Films covering the Resistance periods exhibited by Ahmad Shah Massoud are prepared and distributed by MF, in order to enlighten the public and the common people. Also clips covering the various seminars and congregations are produced or made by the cinema section. Photos  of special occasions are also taken by the professional personal. 

IV- Libraries:

Massoud Foundation has a central library located at its Central Headquarters in Kabul and from here; books, journals and periodicals are distributed to its provincial libraries. The two libraries, one in Herat and the other in Takhar are the most active libraries as far the provincial libraries are concerned. Researcher and the students, and the public are using these libraries to do some research and carry out their studies and readings.

The Massoud Foundation, established in 2003, is an independent, non-aligned, non-profitable and non-political organization which is the product of the mindsets of an elite Afghan group, for the realization of socially valuable lofty goals determined to heal the wounds and soothe the social pains and discomforts and redirect the national potentials and capacities towards the development of the deprived cross-section of Afghan society firstly by the creation of an economically self-sufficient and self-reliable society and secondly by founding an Afghan society garnished with moderate Islam
